Accessibility to the Cottages

The Coach House & Stables cottages are set in the grounds of the owner's home, with private access from the main road by way of a 16 metre long gravel driveway with slight decline (Driveway is 2.140 meter wide at its narrowest point, so worth pulling in a mirror!). Where there is a double wooden gate allowing vehicular access to the well-lit, private, gravelled courtyard (275 sqm). Allowing ample parking immediately outside both cottages and allowing you to open car doors fully.

Accessibility inside the Coach House

The main entrance is through the large 111 cm wide door, with a small lip into the entrance hall which has a slate covered floor and room for a wheelchair if required. To the right is level access through the 74 cm wide door into the sitting room which has a slate covered floor. To the left is the entrance to the kitchen through a 82 cm doorway, which has a small 5 cm step, the kitchen has a quarry tiled floor. A work top height of 93 cm, a low level oven, integrated dishwasher and fridge with ice box.

A wooden staircase with banister has 7 treads to a half landing then a further 5 treads leads onto the landing with a parquet floor. The bathroom has a door width of 73cm, a shower over bath with rim height of 56 cm, sink rim height of 84 cm and a toilet seat height of 42 cm.

The main bedroom has a door width of 67 cm, with parquet floor, a king sized bed and the height of the mattress from floor level being 67 cm.

The second bedroom door width is 74 cm also with parquet floor and has adult size (3 ft) bunk beds.

Access to the rear garden is through the side gate (94 cm wide) down a small step of 14 cm or via the sitting room stable door down a step of 7 cm onto small gravel path, then up one step of 29 cm (no handrail) onto the lawned area. The Garden has an outside light and garden furniture. Private access onto the walkway through side gate (79 cm) onto a barked path down 6 railway sleeper steps (no handrail).

Accessibility inside The Stables

The Stables is suitable for a person with restricted walking ability and for those that may need to use a wheelchair some of the time and can negotiate a maximum of one step. The ground floor bathroom benifits from a large walk in shower (one step), a grab rail, lever taps and a shower stool. There is also a bedsettee in the sitting room. We can also provide a wheelchair ramp for the two steps leading to the courtyard.
